Terms
Plain terms for buying and using WordStride. Where New Zealand consumer law gives you rights, nothing here takes them away.
Integration Lab Limited, Christchurch, New Zealand. In force from 26 October 2026.
What you are buying
WordStride is software: a pane for Microsoft Word and Google Docs, and on a Mac a helper app that shows a counter beside your line. You are buying a licence to use it, not the software itself. A lifetime licence lets you use the version you bought, and every update we release to it, for as long as we offer WordStride, with no further payment. A weekly plan lets you use it for as long as the subscription is paid; it renews every week until you cancel, and stops at the end of the last paid week.
Your licence key
Your key is personal. You can enter it on any number of computers that are yours, and on your own accounts in Word and Google Docs. You may not share it, post it, sell it or give it to anyone else, and we may deactivate a key that is being used that way. If you believe your key has been exposed, tell us and we will issue a new one.
Price and payment
Prices are shown at checkout, including any tax that applies where you are. Payment is taken by Stripe. For the weekly plan, Stripe charges your card every week on the day you first paid; you can cancel or change your card at any time from the link in your Stripe receipt or by emailing us, and cancelling stops the next charge. Refunds are covered by the refund policy.
What we promise
We will keep WordStride working with current versions of Microsoft Word (Microsoft 365) and Google Docs, fix faults that are reported to us, and keep the licence service running. If we ever stop offering WordStride, we will give lifetime licence holders at least 90 days' notice and make their keys work without the service before it closes.
Word counts are made by the rules described on the help page. They are a guide to your own progress. Your institution, publisher or examiner may count differently, and the count that matters for a submission is theirs; please check before you rely on ours for a limit.
What we cannot promise
Microsoft and Google change their software without telling us, and an update on their side can stop an add-in working until we catch up. We cannot promise the plugin will never be interrupted or will be free of every fault. The Mac helper needs the Accessibility permission to work, which only you can grant.
Fair use
You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute WordStride, build another product from it, or use it to do anything unlawful. The name WordStride, the Integration Lab name and marks, and the software remain ours.
Liability
If you are buying as a consumer in New Zealand, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 applies and nothing here limits it. In every other case, our liability to you for anything to do with WordStride is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the problem, and we are not liable for indirect loss such as lost work, missed deadlines or lost marks. Please keep your own backups of your documents, as you would without us.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using WordStride at any time; uninstalling is described on the install page. We may end a licence if a key is shared or these terms are broken, after telling you why and giving you a chance to respond. Weekly plans end when you cancel or when payment stops.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the courts of New Zealand have jurisdiction. Questions about them go to hello@charlotteprice.co.nz. If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we will say so here with the date and, for anything significant, email people who have bought WordStride.
